I'm not sure if you're talking about soundguy or promoter here so I'm just gonna have to be general..
A good few of our gigs there were not that full at all, the promoter lost money on us a couple of times and still rebooked us and always looked after us, and still continues booking us to this day, even stepped in to take on one of our gig last minute last month as a favour. And we're not a big band, he's just a good guy. We never really really rammed out or sold out the Charlotte or anything, and we were never treated badly, pretty much always left having had a good night.
Also, the soundguy was always nice at the end, even on the emptiest nights he'd always come up and say he enjoyed it. Not that I'm saying he'd enjoy every band, maybe we got lucky, but he's one of the few soundguys I've noticed actually doing sound while we played.
Either way, it's still moronic to welcome the closing of a good venue.
