The quality is certainly not "higher", but it's a lot more raw, therefore (i find) much more pleasureable to listen to, as it's not quite perfect.

I wouldn't actually call myself a vinyl collector. I've accumulated a number of vinyl records over the years because I enjoy them more as a format than CDs. The artwork tends to be much more impressive, the playback quality is completely different and it feels like you're getting more for your money really.

I've played all of my records in the past, it's not as if I just buy them to look at, like a lot of vinyl collectors do.

I think i've probably played that like once, about 4 years ago.

If you want it, pay for the postage, and i'll send you it, cos it's just gathering dust here.

    Let me know anyways.

    technically, the quality is higher.

the sound coming from a vinyl record is an analogue wave, which is different to a CD, as CD audio has to be digitised into bits (as in bit rate), changing a completely smooth analogue wave into a staggered digital wave. which means that vinyl should be truer to the original sound being recorded.

the irony is that pretty much every modern recording is done in a digital studio, digitally processed, and then mastered with digital mastering software. rendering the whole point of the vinyl totally useless, adding to it's preposterousness.

big artwork does look mint though

I was at that Leeds Fest show. Oh man, Crackout! I remember Crackout!

Anywho, I just looked through my vinyl collection and I own a Dive Dive vinyl! I don't know why.
I also own Global Parasite/The Arteries split vinyl, but I've never listened to it because the same week I bought it was the same week my dad got rid of our vinyl player Sad. Must buy one of my own that you can copy to the computer!
