Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
Are you just going to put Mp3s onto a CD?
That's not going to sound that great is it? Aren't mp3s compressed?

Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
to be honest, if an mp3 is converted right you shouldn't be able to tell the difference, and even so, it's better quality than myspace audio anyway.

Meh my hearing is bad anyways, so I can't tell between 256kbp and uncompressed audio.

Yeah I'll just stick to mp3, that seems to be what most bands send it to me in anyway.

If you want the cd to sound good, you'll need to get higher quality than that from the bands. You'll need to be using .wav files, that's the standard for cds.

Right. I'll edit the original post to include this then.

Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
It'd need to be uncompressed .Wav files else you'll just have (nearly) the same quality as a Mp3 but at 800% the filesize.
Sorry to be confusing

Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
yeah, and there would be no point in someone taking their mp3 and converting it to wav to send however

Nothing I was just thinking how much space I would have left on my iPod if all of my music was in wav. This is a completely non-technical opinion.

No no, take the cd and rip the file at higher quality, not the mp3.
Fletch - this would be for the cd, not your computer. You'd just rip it the same as any other cd.
Alternatively, just make a cd rammed with shitloads of mp3s from bands.

Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
Retro style
I wouldn't actually know how to make a mix tape without have to google it though
CDs I can do easily though.
Ok question to all the bands who want to be involved:
Jewel Case or Plastic Slips?

Plastic slips for economy.

Re: Ska Mutiny Compilation CD
I thought so too, but I thought bands would have to cart them around a lot if they were going to sell them at gigs, which would mean that durabilty would be good..
That said, jewel cases are hardly durable. Plastic slips it is!
