Re: The video game thread
It was being disobedient and I didn't have much patience at the time to be honest... I think a waterfall might be a bit easier.

Cool, you can see pretty much most of the wings that I've made for my viper and is that a second bridge that you've made, Lee?
Has Jack not been on in a while?
Memma, why don't you have a waterfall going into a moat?

Re: The video game thread
iv put my booster tracks to use and can now propel myself from home to as far as i've built my track (just part the big bridge). the booster tracks really struggle with inclines though. my 4:1 incline has 1 booster per 8 blocks but once i've mined more gold i'm going to have to go back and do it 1 per 4. that same path going down hill though looks like it doesn't need any. woo!

Re: The video game thread
yoyoyo!!
I just thought I'd share with you the customised "painterly" texture pack I finished today. I've been playing around with it for quite a while on and off, tweeking bits and bobs and trying different combinations... but now I'm feeling pretty bloody satisfied with it
This is the full folder, 1.5 compatible!
aaand in case you're interested THIS is the terrain psd file, which I put loads of variants in cause I like variety and you might prefer some of the other options (such as a scary pumpkin rather than a wild natural and unscathed pumpkin...!)
still can't decide whether to make my own from scratch... i reckon it would take a long long time to finish every detail with something original! :S and i'm a bit of a perfectionist so i doubt i'd ever be satisfied with it...

Re: The video game thread
go into your dropbox folder, go into public, right click (control click) the file you want to share, choose the dropbox> option and then copy public link. that is a link we can all use. you can even directly link images.
all we get when we follow the links you've made is a 403 error cos we aren't logged in as you

Ellie is such a noob!
Last night I had a bit of fun with Desktop Dungeons. You have probably already mentioned it before, Lee.

Re: The video game thread
Not all of us have a right mouse button though eh, Memma?
It was. I don't usually watch Extra Credits but the latest episode caught my eye. I'm going to give Valkyria Chronicles a look into now too.
I've managed to unlock all of the fighter classes but that game is bloody hard!

Re: The video game thread
when i watched that, i wished they'd mentioned less games but given them all more time. I considered it weak of them to not even give a basic introduction to each game. they didn't even mention what the games were.
i haven't played valkyria chronicals, but from what i understand, it was a good idea badly executed. didn't yahtzee do a review at one point

You have no right mouse button on the count of Macs traditionally not having more than one button. I don't know what they're like now though. Speaking of macintosh, I want to make a USB pen 'hackintosh' but need to find a mac to stick my memory stick in first *tee-hee*
Yahtzee did do a review of Valkyria Chronicles. After watching it I don't think I'll bother. Well, it's on my rental list but I'm in no rush.

Re: The video game thread
today i went to the nether and had a mild heart attack.
i carved a tunnel into the roof and broke up a seam of glowstone. i collected most of it and what fell down was retrieved afterwards.
It was only enough for 3 glowstone with 7 remaining piles of dust however.
i also got more netherrack than I could ever use and a handfull of slow sand. I have no idea what i'll use it for but I thought i may as well grab some while i was visiting.

feltch, if you need any wool for your internet spaceships, I have 4 stacks of white wool, you can have as much of it as you need.
Also, does anyone have spare golds? I believe i have exhausted the world supply

Re: The video game thread
I need a black sheep generator.
I've made my waterfall, I think it was quite successful, not quite finished the pool bit at the bottom but I think the bit running through my house is good! Currently having staircase issues.. Might post pictures later for opinions!
