Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Blackpool has a million beds and around the figure of 800,000 must be in hotels. That's about the same number of hotel beds as all of Portugal according to Bill Bryson.

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Some good news on my behalf; my mother has found a B&B right near Winter Gardens, £144 for 4 nights, which is a little pricey, but I dont care, this is The Rebellion. I just need to get a ticket, which would be the quickest was for me to get one? I have really left this to the last minuite. Im slightly in the shit as Im only 17, so getting beer is going to be a bitch. You cant go to a punk festival and not get hammered, can you?
I hope this pulls through.

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
I emailed the ticket dudes a week or so back and they said you can still phone 'em up and buy a ticket or you can just get one on the door, so I'm being fairly laid back about it. Don't quote me on that shit though!

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Ok, Im just going to book it via the ticket hotline.
Damn, my uncle cant make it, so Im going on my own. Theres a guy I know from another site who's going, but hes an arrogant prick. Is there any chance of me joining in with the Ska munity meet up?
Damn, The Adicts clash with The Beat I love the Beat, I have seen them live before though, so its not all bad. The Adicts are a band that I MUST see before I die.

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
You can buy them on the door but expect to pay at least £20 more on the door. £144 for 4 nights? Don't take that, phone up the B&B I recommended!
If we get a ska mutiny meet-up I'll buy your booze for you. Anyway, is anyone coming down on the wednesday and come to my ska-filled warm-up?
If not, are we meeting on the thursday? If so, I vote meet at 11:30 for Bingo, but if people won't make it that early then later is fine with me.

to be fair it works out at £36 a night so not much more expensive than £25 a night.

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
In all honesty, I have to take what I can, I dont care as long as I have A) Punk rock music and B)Alcohol
Not to mention that the hotel is really quite awesome. The Wembley Hotel. It's right on the sea front, near winter gardens.
So yeah, Im getting there on the Thursday, Heres my plan:
Thursday 6th
OUTL4W
Police Bastard
Flogging molly
The Varukers
Friday
The Subhumans
The Adolescents
Peter and the test tube babies
Vice squad
The Damned
Saturday
Criminal class
Citizen Fish (Yes, Ill leave the criminal class gig 1/2 way through)
Goldblade
999
Anti Nowhere league
UK Subs
The Adicts
Sunday
Resistance 77
The Templars
The Dickies
Killing Joke
Im sure I'll be able to fit alot more bands inbetween, this is just a rough draft.
@veganfishcake: Thats would be awesome if you could buy me beer (Thats if I dont get served, people never ask for ID at gigs, but you never know).
This forum is awesome

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Ooh we're doing plans of who to see now eh?
Well on Thursday there's no one I've heard of except Flogging Molly so I might wander around aimlessly for a while beforehand. Friday it'd be lovely to see Baby Boom, Ben Childs, Mike TV, Star Fucking Hipsters, Sonic Boom Six and Babar Luck. After that I might give the Bad Shepherds a shot. Saturday starts with the Babylon Whackers and Citizen Fish then I don't think there's anyone I wanna see 'til Stza, then I might check out the Grit and hang about til Random Hand. I'll start Sunday with Jaya the Cat, then the Skints, Suicide Bid, Kunt and the Gang, World/Inferno, Napalm Death, Voodoo Glow Skulls and finish the weekend with Leftover Crack.

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Right so we are meeting up on Thursday? Everyone post arrival times and then times of the bands we wanna see and then we'll work out if either we're free at some point or all seeing the same band.
For me I'll be getting to the venue every day at around 11am to set up the art stall. I basically have to do about half an hour of work a day and I get a free pass for the weekend.
BINGO WITH MAX 11.30AM - Almost Acoustic
DEAD SUBVERTS 12.00 - The Arena
ALIAS SMITH AND JONES 12.25 - Almost Acoustic
ACID DROP 12.45 - The Arena *willing to miss*
KEYSIDE STRIKE 1.30 - The Arena *willing to miss*
MONKISH 2.15 - The Arena
2:45-3:45 *FREE*
CHIEF 3.45 - The Arena
GEOFREY OICOTT 4.35 - The Arena *willing to miss*
5:05-6:15 *FREE*
RADIO DEAD ONES 6.15 - The Arena *willing to miss*
GUILTY PLEASURES 6.45 - Empress Ballroom
7:15-8:05 *FREE*
OUTL4W 8.05 - The Arena
CUTE LEPERS 8.25 - Empress Ballroom
BLOOD OR WHISKEY 9.20 - Empress Ballroom
FLOGGING MOLLY 10.30PM - Empress Ballroom
11:30-onwards *FREE*
So anytimes with ** I can meet up, which work out at the following:
Bingo, 12:45-2:15, 2:45-3:45, 4:15-6:45, 7:15-8:05, 11:30-onwards (although if everyone staying at mine aint bothers about Section 5 or The Varukers we might go home after Flogging Molly).

Re: Rebellion Festival Meetup?
Chris Murray clashes with BOTH Subhumans and The Multi-Coloured Pop Shop (Kris, who cooked you lovely food when you played for me.
I think I'll see Chris Murray, catched the end of Kris's set and then see Babar Luck play right after him.

I've seen Subhumans plenty of times. I've seen Chris Murray once, when we put him on at Retro Bar in Manchester so I'll see Chris Murray.

You and me both. This year I have missed Kippertronix, Bluerock, Square Fest, and some others I can't remember . I intend on going to all of them next year. Especially Bluerock, since I've been told I can help out with getting bands: e.g. hijack a stage and skaify it.

What does Multi-Coloured Pop Shop do? I know the Bizarre Bazaar doesn't just do music. There's an awful lot of burlesque this year.
