    Rebellion Festival Empty Rebellion Festival

Post by MidlandsDan Tue Aug 11, 2009 3:27 pm

    Suprised there isn't a post-Rebellion thread already.

So many experiences packed into 4 days...mind blowing.

I saw 47 bands or thereabouts. That's the equivalant of about 15 gigs, and I worked out that even with accomodation and train ticket thrown in, that's about £15 a gig.

If Wreckless Jake doesn't post on here for a bit it might be because some bird's mother has broken his legs...

Me too. My feet were killing by the end of Thursday. It got to the point where I really couldn't stand up for very long by Sunday. I saw you a couple of times Joe but didn't want to be like a groupie fanboy and pester you.

Haha, I was fucking gutted when she shown up. If only she turned up 15 minuites later, then maybe my legs would be broken.

Overall wicked weekend,Im in so much pain from the skanking/moshing and Im still pissed off that my all time favourite 2 Tone Band, The Beat clashed with one of my all time favourites, The Adicts

Star f*cking hipsters were brilliant, definately gonna listen to more of them. The Adicts are now the single best band I have ever seen live, they were absolutely brilliant.

I watched several bands I have never heard of who were brilliant, such as Geofrey Oicott, Badtown, Guns on the roof & Radio dead ones. Bad town was my favourite ska gig of the weekend.

I will give you a hell yeah for sure. Its not the kind of ska I'd normally go in for but I enjoyed it very much, so I'm glad I went to see your show.

The dancing was a lot of fun, you actually got a faster and with more people circle pit than Agnostic Front.

So hopefully I will be able to see you again in the future.

The video will be added to my column of Facebook Rebellion vids.

Literally almost everyone I had an extended conversation with over the weekend was at that show, many on my recommendation. Everyone loved it.

I spent most of my time at The Bizarre Bazaar stage.

I liked it in there, as it wasn't too rammed and I could chill out and watch an awesome stage show.

I saw some of RH, but it was so crowded in there I just stood at the back for a few songs, and then went to watch some Bay City Rollers, and then catch the second half of The Beat.

Infact, the only band who I have seen before who I stayed for the whole set was Monkish!! And the only other none Acoustic/Bizarre Bazaar stage act I saw the whole set for other than Monkish was Love & a .45 because I missed them when VeganfishJAKE and I (to a lesser extent) put them on in Blackpool as I was on a quest for food!

Best act for the whole weekend for me was easily World/Inferno Friendship Society. I'd even say they were the best band I've EVER seen in my life. It was just one of those epic moments. I was like a total fanboy, gazing lovingly at Jack Tericloth, and he ran his hand through my (mega short) hair during the line "All the skinheads know"...

I don't want to wash my head haha

Yeah, that's the one. I missed them. I can't remember why. I think it was because I was too busy catching a nap in the acoustic stage lol

me and Dan were getting pissed with some punks on the beach, anyway, this hot girl comes along after running away from home, so I work my magic (which was heavily influenced by Dans 'magic juice'), she gives me the whole "aww you're so sweet" and "Why cant there be more guys like you", so I thought I'd strike, I start kissing her, for a good 10 minuites, then out of nowhere, her mum is stood right next to us. Its a good job she didn't show up 10 minuites later, I was on the verge of slipping my hands up her skirt.

    ON THE ACOUSTIC STAGE

Did you see Knox play Warhead with Charlie Harper?

For anyone who did, that was my friend Rick who got up on stage and sang with them. Very Happy

Brother she just went 'I think its time for you to come home, I've been worried sick about you.'

Which led to hilarious ideas about her mother appearing mid-intercourse and waiting politely for the cumulative (little pun in the spelling of that word eh) moment and then saying 'I think its time for you to come home now.'

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, it was a beautiful scene down by the beach at night and a total mindfuck when we saw the tide all the way in, then went back in the morning and it was way out...it was an amazing night for me because of all the subculturalist brothers and sisters and the scenery, and of course all the amazing experiences of the weekend to look back on. Life doesn't get better.

Jake how does it feel to have shaken hands with Jesse the lead singer of the Aggrolites, the best band in the world?
Not only that but chillin with Blood Or Whiskey's stage dude.
Also, have you found out when her birthday is gonna be yet? Laughing

I cant be arsed with her tbh, that was just my 20 minuites of Punk rock love, nothing more, noting less.

Yeah, the Aggro's are awesome, wouldn't say the best band in the world though Razz. Thats why I loved the Rebellion, all band members were waltzing around and watching other bands and talking to people, not sitting backstage in their ivory towers, a la Charlie Harper, even Wattie from Exploited was seen talking in a pub.
