Good free organ synths? Empty Good free organ synths?

Post by invertedtwisted Wed Jun 03, 2009 5:40 pm

Bit of a weird question here, but nevertheless:

We've got a show this Saturday and we're stuck using my keyboard which is just a MIDI controller and needs to go through some kind of software synth. Right now I just use it with my iMac for which I have loads of sounds, but that's useless for performing, we're going to have to use a windows laptop.

So, could anyone reccomend a decent free organ synth for windows?

    Thanks guys : )

And do you have some recording software to run it through? I found a plugin free one here:http://www.iliadisorgan.com/freeplugins.html

Yes, we have recording software to run it through, plugins are fine.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a hammond, but some kind of rock/ska organ rather than a church/pipe organ.

Those ones look pretty good, thanks very much : )

We also have points, if you check your profile. I think you get points depending on how long you've been here/post count, stuff like that.

    It's just one big competition.

So do we get prizes or something if we get a certain amount of points?

The thanks button gives you 3 points on your score. I'm not sure if this is for clicking it, or receiving thanks, or both.

I'm gonna investigate the points thing and see what it's all about Smile

I gave some well deserved thanks in the 'trumpet again?' topic and her Cool-o-meter went up to the icy heights of 3 points higher.

You could "acquire" a version of Native Instruments B4 via some pirate friends, which is a Hammond B3 emulated synth. Basically the closest you'll get to owning a real Hammond B3 organ! It sounds fantastic and has loads of presets, basically the sound of Ska and Reggae, can't think how many songs have a B3 on them. You can run it standalone as well so there's no need to VST it through a DAW.

I was actually going to ask why the hell the link was removed, Ha! Everyday criminal in action. Surprised I wasn't banned from this forum for posting that.

b3 clasics are only like 18grand, instead of stealing an emulator you should stop being a scrub and buy one
