Yeah but the theme tune was. It was brainwashed into them that when they heard that tune they would have super-awesome-russia powers. Why do you think the Third Reich failed at getting to Moscow? They were playing the tetris tune on the battlefield.

    And what's 'splosion man, anyway?

i prefered their previous game, the maw

and this is some footage of their newest game

the gameplay looks quite fun and it promises to mix up the way the game plays when you jump between different comics but the comedy writing is appalling in this

theres quite the awesomium deal going on at the moment

World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru and Penumbra: Overture as a 5-game download pack for whatever donation you choose.
Profits go to Child's Play and The EFF, two very worthwhile causes. Ideal for anyone, and since they're DRM free, they'll work even if you were in Cyprus.

Lugaru is well fun, it's a bit outdated now but for a game made by one guy while he was still at school it's damn awesome

but the guy is has collected a small team who are now working on a sequel called overgrowth
They update their website every day with what they're working on, showing off a new model or some concept art or discussing game design in general.

I've just about had it with Steam. I've been trying to use it on and off for a number of days now but the update gets stuck at 26%, then at 99%, then on other occasions 33%.

i don't like that the new version is more processor intensive, steam uses too many resources to begin with

Now I've got Steam working, I've noticed a game called Flotilla. Has anyone heard anything good about it? It's only £6.29 but I could use that to buy X-Com games.

    alan wake is the shit

it's set out like a tv series, it has a 'previously, on alan wake' and everything.
the plot is quite seperate from the gameplay though, it'd be better if it was more tightly intergrated, it tends to be that you get a big chunk of plot which sets you up for a couple of hours of shooting and running around scared then you get a cool cliffhanger.

the whole story revolves around a writer who has written a story which is coming true although cooler than it sounds. you have lost all memory of the story but you keep finding pages littered around that give you hints as to whats coming up and lines of dialogue that people say have been quoted in the pages previously, it gives you a cool déjá vu feeling as you play.

There are a load of really memorable characters too, my two favourites have been the Anderson brothers, two old-time heavy-metal band members with dementia, still reliving the glory of their younger days.
