A roots mix with steve baswell, albarosie, taurus riley and loads of other stuff.

A mix my mate gave me a mix by a *cringes* dubstep dj called dub boy. Its actually really good, most of it is essentially steppas reggae anyway.

don't know if anyone here is a violent femmes fan, but gordon gano's new band has a video out to promote their upcoming new album

it's quite different from the violent femmes stuff but i love gano's voice way too much to not buy this straight up anyway shame it's a bit more subdued than in their earlier stuff.

im a little reluctant to see kasabian because theyre playing an arena and the rest are at the O2 acadamy which is wwaayyy better

shes ugly and I hate her voice, really don't get the appeal.

In that case my choice would be biffy clyro, not a fave band or owt but they were good when i saw them.

i think i might go to white lies, saw them at evolution fest this year and they were really good. unfortunatly the wombats were headlining and they are SHITE

i'd have said kasabian if it wasn't for the larger size gig, and dave, pins is a fucking chown!

play rock band for a bit, the yea yeah yeahs certainly grow on you

i saw kasabian at the blank canvas in leeds, it was fun

you realise theres like no decent local bands up here right? 99% of them are wannabe indie bands, theres a few good ones like detroit social club and martini sessions but they barely play, besides ive already got random hand and SB6 in my schedule

I'd vote to go see one you haven't seen before. though i know that means it's more of a risk! are you feeling risky??

i can vouch for that, there are very few decent local bands in the area. back when i was playing gigs in the area, it was very hard to get a gig without claiming to sound like oasis

exactly, dont get me wrong i like indie music (i fucking love franz ferdinand) but id rather not go and see 15 local indie bands that all sound the same. ska and punk are rarities up here

also ellie all five of those bands have a good live reputation, plus ive only seen white lies out of them so that still leaves the other four

franz ferdinand are lovely peoples, I watched morrissey (who I cant stand but my ex maded me and she had secret mind control devices) with the singer, drummer and guitarist from them at leeds fest. They were all very nice, tho alex kapranos got mobbed so didnt talk much to us cos we werent fussed, but the guitarist and drummer were, and the drummer danced like a gay and kept bumping into us then apologising in the campest scottish accent ever.

im off too see franz in october the whole dancing like a gay makes sense considering two of them actually are gay (i think)

i have absolutly nothing to name drop about, i high fived tomas kalnoky and thats about it

I think I've seen all them bands except white lies... so my vote goes to kasabian.

I really like the yeah yeah yeahs, but every time I'm seen them live they've been a disappointment.. hmmm...
