Re: The film thread
Yeah I liked it, totally unaware of the fact that it wasn't in English before watching it though.
Same thing happened with that kung-fu film that was out a few years ago, can't remember the name but it was quite funny.
Look how many films I have seen that are not in English, oh how indy I am.

Re: The film thread
Saw the Cottage last night.
British "Comedy/Horror" starring Andy Serkis (Gollum), Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen) and Jennifer Ellison (erm...Brookside).
It takes about half the film for anything worthwhile to happen (and it's only 90minutes) but when it does, the film really picks up. It focuses a little too much on gore over substance, but for a film that you can easily pick up for £3/£4 in Tesco it's worth a shot.

Re: The film thread
Watched Dead Man's Shoes again last night.
Absolutely fantastic film. Shane Meadows has a great understanding of how to make his films feel very realistically working class. Despite being clear about the plot that's going to follow from near the beginning it still manages to be a powerful film, with a strong ending.
On that matter, the DVD offers an alternative ending, which I feel would've changed some of the feeling and message in the film. I do prefer the original ending though, works much more subtly.
