also my favourite roald dahl book will always be the twits

I had The Twits on cassette too! Whenever I'm home and ask my mum what's for dinner she always says 'it's Worms!' from when Mrs Twit cooks them. Aye, we're a bunch of oddjobs

there is no shame in the twits!

I made the world's best stiry fry once but forgot to write the ingredients to the sauce down so it was just like George's Marvellous Medicine getting it right again.

Vicar of Nibbleswick/Esio Trot were my faves (although I can't remember what happened in Esio Trot much - I know there's a tortoise...)
As well as The Enormous Crocodile.
The Minpins was a pretty good slightly darker kids book as well...
(There was a question about Roald Dahl kids books on Pointless earlier...)

the enormous crocodile rocked, quentin blakes illustrations were top drawer too.

They made the perfect pair, didn't they. I can't imagine the most famous Roald Dahl books without those illustrations.

the only Dahl I know without Blake is the Minpins, but I don't really think that book suits Blake's drawings anyway.

I always liked The BFG (Big friendly giant) as a kid, that was one of the first books I read too.

Its a pity you never see kids of today readin them, its all bloody Hannah Montanna and High school musical now.

I could write some post about how I LOVED every single book you've mentioned and gush about them all for 1000 words...but I'm not gunna. I might begin to sound like a slightly hyperactive child. And nobody likes that.

I wonder what happened to all my roald dahl books. They must still be at my mums somewhere.

For the third day in a row i'm up early and waiting downstairs for the postman to come in case he tries to deliver some of my lovely records because i'll be fucked if i'm going to miss them and have to wait 48 hours to pick them up.
