The Slackers - LIVE Empty The Slackers - LIVE

Post by jimmykebab Mon May 18, 2009 10:30 am

I went to see the Slackers in Sheffield on Saturday, nearly didn't go too even though I managed to wrangle a couple of guest list tickets, but I managed to convince a friend to come along and man it was amazing!!!!

The Skints - Proper quality, I wasn't mad keen on the recordings but live on a big stage they are great. The drummer has the best vocals I've heard in a long time, and the stage presence is great at the front of the stage, however I did wonder how 'ghetto' their home town is in comparison to what they say it is, i'm thinking more Guildford than Elephant and Castle if you get me. Lol. I might be wrong. Anyway, they were very good.

The Slackers - MINT MINT MINT! I'm not missing another great ska gig again, they are just amazing, all the band members looked like they were loving it, and they just had a vibe of 'proper fucking cool' about them. My life may never be the same.

I saw 'em the last time they came round, with Pama International and the Pietasters. I never get over how cool the Slackers bassist looks, especially with that old Vox. I dream of being as awesome as Marcus Geard

The best bit was at the end when loads of people fucked off to get the train and it left a really intimate crowd, OH and old dog too. What a tune!

I'd love to go see them in Leeds next Sunday.
