The Skints Do One

The Skints have apparently left their record label 'Do The Dog' and are planning to record their debut album with the one and only Pete Miles next month.

Just some speculation on my part here but i reckon this could well be the next Rebel Alliance(Sonic Boom Six's self run label) signing which would definitely continue the labels trend of signing the best up and coming UK ska bands.

Crickey, The Skints have certainly done bloody well for themselves! I think I hadn't heard of them until about a month ago, now I'm hearing about them every where! How long have they been around for?

They certainly did seem to just spring up out of nowhere!

This is probably the album i'm most excited for right now. This and Frank Turner. I've got a great feeling about this year musically.

The first time they played Leeds was supporting the King Blues and everyone stood bemused before finally getting dancing. Next time it was supporting Random Hand and again, bemused before loving it. At Slam Dunk despite playing at 3.30, opening the stage when there was still a huge queue they got a load of people down not only enjoying it but dancing away. I saw loads of Skints t-shirts that day too, despite the fact they were first on the bill. From a Leeds perspective, they've got a nice little fanbase now. Sick band.

They've still actually got a few songs to write yet before they record it so it might be a little while yet.

All I've ever heard from them is a few fairly poor old demos so I'm interested to see what they're like these days
