Anyone got any advice on getting old vomit stains out of carpet?

I think what worries me most is that it's been left long enough to be considered an old vomit stain.

get a hammer and drive a nail through a water pipe

claim on insurance

vomit all over the floor that way, no ones knows its a stain.

some spray called 1001 stain remover - or something along those lines.
I've been told it works on anything (inc. red wine)

aye, 1001 spray. Managed to get hot chocolate and ribena (not together) out of my pale grey carpet!

Go back in time and clean it up just after it happened.

Or go back in time with a bucket. Then you won't have to clean it up.

Well there would still probably be a stain but no fuss nonetheless.
