But yeah I know exactly what you mean, I know two guys at work that like ska (one is more the two-tone type. The other more punk than ska, but still likes it).

I was playing some Russian ska at work and months later my manager said i listen to weird stuff like that "Russian Folk music". I replied with this.

    Me: It was Ska.
    Manager shrugs
    Manager: Whats "Ska"?

He's only in his early 30's he should know ska! People these days!

    Oi oi.

Christina, 20, Glasgow. Likes dark rum and photography, doesn't like most metal or the question 'so why blue?'

    thinks you should check out

    the murderburgers
    the hostiles
    the hijacks

and never, ever speaks in the third person except in her first and only introduction post.

They seem to get better every time I see them, unfortunately they don't seem to be playing Glasgow again for quite some time. Plenty of other bands to keep us busy though!

Ach, try and support The Hijacks as much as you can as they're on dodgy grounds about their future at the moment Sad

I know, they are definitely one of the best bands to have ever come from Aberdeen. I don't know what I'd do without them!

Aye, they're really nice chaps. They were the ones who inspired me to ditch the classical trumpet training and get into to ska world originally. I owe it all to them!

    Hello, I'm Lois!
I joined here cos Random Hand mentioned it, but quite coincidentally I happen to know the lovely lady who posted just above me. It's a small world Razz
I live in London and spend way too much time in the Underworld skanking to bands like Advantage (ex-Grown At Home), the JB Conspiracy, Random Hand and Sonic Boom Six.

    Hello

I'm Wai, I live in Bristol, don't play in any bands at the moment, although I've recently done some budget home recordings of some songs with the intent of putting a band together (www.myspace.com/timorousme) Probably completely the wrong place to ask, but does anyone know any horn players in Bristol? People may know me through my merch monkeying/roadieing with Random Hand. I once slept on Peeky's floor. I think that is all.

Ah, random hand merch. We've all been there, at our lowest point.

yeah, pickled dick merch was always a few steps up Smile

i am still convinced that pickled dick/mike tv are an awesome tshirt company that figured they could sell their tshirts in pubs and clubs if they formed a band side-project. Stroke of genius (no offence, ricky h)

Quick Summers Edit: I've removed the picture of your balls Lee, that wasn't needed.
