Re: What are you listening to?
Im listening to this cheap underground us ska compilation I got with my interpunk credit from buying some shirts... Features the flaming tsunamis and a billion earnies. Those are the only two I'd heard of before getting it, it has a few cool songs on it. It's called subterranean documentation.
If anyone is interested the tracklisting goes:
1 Daly's Gone Wrong -Dear Ava Play MP3 clip
2 Too Short Notice -Go On Get Out Of Here
3 Commercials -If I Don't Come Home Tonight
4 Sgr -V-town
5 Red Plaid Menace -I Used To Be Punk Rock
6 Stupid Hero -Without You
7 A Billion Ernies -Hermit Crab
8 No Regrets -Kill Your Scene (live)
9 Skeptics -Fifth Season
10 Scream Hello -Not A Sacrifice
11 Flaming Tsunamis -Refuse To Die
12 Upperhand -Pandemonium
13 Bob And The Sagets -Contagious Positivity
14 This Side Of Sundown -Make My Heart Attack
15 Drop It Jeffrey -Terrorists Win
16 Argyles -This Could Kill Us
17 Tom Herman -Virginia

Re: What are you listening to?
The last five songs I've listened to are as follows:-
That is probabally my current favourite Conflict song, so powerful. As for So messed up, its just as good as most early Damned, their first album blows my fucking head off.
The Beat, everyone here should know these, my favourite Ska/2 Tone band, seen em live not so long ago. Rancid, they're a good band, love their earlier stuff, dont know what to make of Let the dominoes fall. Misfits, just cant beat them, classic, bit of the old horror punk.
Conflict This is the ALF
The Damned So messed up
The Beat two swords
Rancid Poison
The Misfits Die, Die my darling

Re: What are you listening to?
Allready I dont like last fm, just got an account, searched for a ska radio station, and what do I get? Reel big bloody fish
Is there a way to make your own playlists? because I cant seem to just listen to one radio station here, I was listening to The Adicts radio and everything was reet, Chinese takeaway was on, then for some reason, GBH came on.
Im listening to some Operation Ivy, they seem awesome, not like RBF ¬_¬

So cringeworthy when she comes in.
'Hey guys, mind if i get in here?'
The new albums very slowly growing on me, still not mad on it though.

Re: What are you listening to?
Capdown - Surviving the Death of a Genre. Cracking band.
Just saw a comment above about Reel Big Fish. I like a lot of ska. I like a lot of different types & sub genres of ska. I like ska from it's humble beginnings right up until it's present-day counterpart...but I do like a bit of Reel Big Fish!
I don't like the whole "they are the epitomy of ska" going on with some of my friends, but they'll hopefully delve a bit deeper soon.
That said, I do still really like 'em, I just know 'em for what they are - a fun little ska-ish band!
